Hey peeps! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has posted stuff on iTunes already - I was pretty upset when I read some of those reviews, it's great that people who really like the show are chiming in! (If there's one thing there isn't enough of in this world, it's recognizing the things we love and making it known, we tend to just voice when we dislike something) I personally love the yip-yapping, and was glad to see I'm not the only one. Acappella U wouldn't be the same without it!
Hooray for the support :) Thanks for pointing out that there are new reviews....it makes me happy to see the fans coming together. I would certainly miss Joey's commentary :( The positive tone in Episode 45 was good though, keep your head up Joey!
Joey, do you have 'Learn to Fly' by the MIT Logarhythms? I know you play the Logs somewhat often...but 'Learn to Fly' is on Rock Band (I think), and their cover is nice. I can send it to you if you don't have it.
well i can't leave a review on the US store, but I left one on the AU store.
Good to see so many people have jumped in and left positive comments, and defended Joey's great banter. Please, no more "short" casts. Keep up the chatter!
I listen to a couple of other acappella casts without any chit-chat, and frankly it gets a bit boring.
You know, they've done tests against people drinking wine: give people the same wine but talk it up and tell them they're drinking "better" wine and they actually do like it better; Food described well tastes better than food described literally; a joke delivered well is more funny than just delivering a cold punchline.
It's not trickery, it's just fact that we enjoy it more. So keep it up! Sell those songs, and make us laugh inbetween tracks.
in australia "sod" is a mild pejorative. Just looked it up, it's an interesting slag. Means a lot of different things around the world. In the UK it can be an abbreviation of sodomy, and from what I can gather is a generally more offensive term although when used in that context doesn't mean anything as specific as sodomy. But literally sod is top soil covered with grass. As a transitive verb, a sodded field or sodding a field means to cover it with grass!
We say "boring sods", "sod off", and it's never intended to be offensive; merely slightly derogatory. It's probably the nicest pejorative available. Closest to it would be "bugger", which is like a trump word in australia: any word can be replaced with "bugger" :)
I like the conclusion of the votes in the latest episode!
